Postdoctoral Fellow, Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Allison Shanley’s therapeutic goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, and safe space for all clients to feel at ease and allow for their desired treatment goals to be achieved. Her empathetic and grounded approach is designed to allow for that level of comfort to be achieved. Dr. Shanley uses an eclectic style to develop a treatment plan that draws from her extensive experience with a variety of theoretical orientations, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered and psychodynamic therapy.
Dr. Shanley received her doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College in Newton, MA. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield, Missouri working with underprivileged patients diagnosed with PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. She has also worked with individuals diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and experience relationship issues, as well as adjustments to major life events. Much of Dr. Shanley’s clinical work has been focused on helping people of all ages learn ways to best manage their symptoms, triggers, and challenges. She aims to support and motivate clients by effectively providing them with evidence-based treatments. Dr. Shanley prioritizes building a strong therapeutic alliance that enables a foundation based on trust, open communication, and collaboration.
